The botanical dyes and conventional fiber reactive methods described here are not intended for polyester. Fiber reactive dyes can color cellulose fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp and rayon using the appropriate preparation and activator. Wool and silk need fiber-specific methods; follow the dye supplier’s directions. On blends, the compatible fibers may take color while polyester remains lighter.
