About Brilliant Orange Synthetic Dye Powder

Brilliant Orange Synthetic Dye Powder is a concentrated fiber reactive dye for bright saturated orange color on compatible cellulose-based fabrics, including cotton and rayon. Use it for shirts, garments and fabric projects, either on its own or alongside other colors for multicolor designs.

Can I use brilliant orange dye for tie-dye and ice dyeing?

The Brilliant Orange fiber reactive dye works well for traditional tie dye, ice dyeing and other fiber reactive dye techniques. Fabric preparation, dye concentration, application method and processing conditions can influence the finished shade, allowing the same powder to produce lighter effects or stronger saturation. When dyeing cellulose fibers, proper preparation and an appropriate dye activator are important parts of the process. Testing a small piece first is recommended whenever an exact finished shade is important.

For ice dye projects, Brilliant Orange dye powder can move through melting ice to create organic transitions, variations and layered areas of color. With direct application and tie dye techniques, it can be positioned more deliberately for defined patterns. The Brilliant Orange fiber reactive dye also pairs well with neighboring or contrasting colors, making it useful for gradients and multicolor designs without limiting the project to a single technique.

What sizes are available?

Brilliant Orange Synthetic Dye Powder is available in 50 g, 100 g and 250 g sizes for individual garments, repeat projects and larger dye sessions. Browse our complete fiber reactive dye collection to coordinate additional colors, or visit the Learn Hub for practical tutorials and project ideas.

How should I plan a repeat dyeing project?

Start with a small fabric sample and record the dry fabric weight, amount of powder, preparation method and processing time. Label the finished sample so you can compare it with later batches. Keep notes on any changes to your method before scaling up to a larger piece.

Safety: Use appropriate protective equipment when handling dye powders and follow the directions for your chosen dyeing method. Not for human or animal consumption.

How to use it for a fiber reactive dye project

  1. Check your method. Read the dye or kit instructions and confirm that your fabric is compatible.
  2. Prepare the fabric. Prewash and follow the specified preparation and activator method. Add soda ash only when your process requires it.
  3. Apply the color. Follow your tie-dye, ice-dye or immersion method for measuring, mixing and dye placement.
  4. Allow the dye to react. Keep to the product instructions for moisture, curing time and temperature.
  5. Rinse and wash. Complete the recommended washout within the garment care limits before evaluating the dry result.

Common questions

Do fiber reactive dyes need a natural-dye mordant?

For a compatible cellulose-fiber process, follow the specified dye activator method, commonly soda ash. Do not substitute a generic alum mordant bath or botanical extraction step for the dye instructions.

Can every fabric use the same method?

No. Check the fiber content and the instructions for the exact dye. Cotton, blends and protein fibers cannot be assumed to use identical preparation.
